The Peoples Parklet Cork

As part of my role with Mad About Cork, I volunteered to paint The People's Parklet on Douglas St. This new public amenity replaces two parking spaces on the street and offers everyone a comfortable place to chat and chill. The parklet offers bike parking, benches, wheelchair access and has been planted up with lots of pollinator-friendly plants.

This project, funded by Cork City Council's Placemaking Fund was a collaboration between numerous people and groups across Cork City, including, Benchspace, Rory Makes, Siobhan Keogh Design, Cork Flower Studio, Cork City Council, Cork Transport and Mobility Forum, Cork Environmental Forum, James O'Riordan Metalwork and Mad About Cork.
